STATION VILLAS
A fully insulated contemporary green bathroom with a reconfigured layout.
-
As a family of young working professionals juggling childcare with their young daughter, my client came to me as they wanted help and advise in how to update their existing bathroom. Currently the room was cold and didn’t offer any storage. They wanted a space that would make the bath night time routine easier with their daughter, but in a room that still felt beautiful and like a spa.
-
The bathroom was very long with a central door and an arched window. The original orientation had the bath, vanity unit and shower all squeezed into one end of the room. It lacked any storage, the room felt cold and they struggled with condensation.
-
By turning the WC and utilising a full wall for the vanity unit we were able to offer triple the amount of storage that they had in the bathroom initially.
To combat the cold, we studded and insulated the external wall with 50mm celotex and created a false ceiling to add additional insulation to the ceiling space to regulate the temperature.
With the bath and shower, we were able to maximise the space around these by creating a half wall and adding a bespoke glass screen above the bath.
